It’s been a sticky situation for Adrien Rabiot in this last few months of his contract. The 23-years-old had to sack his mom, who was his agent and now still searches for a team to move to in the new season.

The story of the wantaway Adrien Rabiot goes something like this. Since news spread the midfielder was unwilling to renegotiate a new deal at his current club Paris Saint-Germain, many of the top clubs in Europe came knocking showing a high interest in the PSG player.

At first, it was clear that Barcelona was in for the man and it made all the sense with some of their first team midfielders reaching the latter stages of their careers. The link to Camp Nou made sense in many ways and developed into more than just a transfer rumour.

Talks between the Spanish giants and the player got underway. Word on the street claimed it was only a matter of time before the Catalans had their player. The deal would have seen him sign in January and leave after the end of the season. Unfortunately for the player things went south and the deal was officially said to be off.

His ex-agent is now only his mother

More from Liverpool FC

After the transfer broke down between Adrien Rabiot and Barcelona the player was left frustrated and in a single act let go of his agent, who was also his mother. Barcelona has since come in and said their midfield plans don’t involve the Frenchman, but they are willing to negotiate if his new rep makes the first move if they want to make it happen.

This does leave us to believe the transfer is off, but the player leaving is still the only option as he hasn’t featured for his club since the news of his desire to leave Paris.

The love affair with the Reds

It was brought to the public’s attention a while back that the player was a big admirer of Jurgen Klopp and his Reds team. This produced new and fresh rumours, this time linking him with an Anfield switch.

The logical truth behind this, the transfer makes sense and has Liverpool written all over it. Keep quiet till the end of the season, the player finally leaves PSG’s grounds and then walks straight into Anfield, his new destination. That, and him leaving on a free, gives me more reason to believe the link to Liverpool could be more than a rumour.

Tottenham now could be front-runners

With all this going on and the player stuck on the border between France and wherever else it is he could land up. What has surfaced from this is Rabiot and a move to Spurs. A team really in need of a player of his quality.

Plagued with injuries in his area of the pitch, Spurs need a reliable player who stays fit for longer. If he comes in, he will walk straight into the first team because of his experiences in European football. The only thing that is hard for him and any other to consider a move to White Hart Lane?

Next. Almiron proved to be worth every penny. dark

Tottenham could be on the verge of losing Mauricio Pochettino to another team, even possibly their rivals, Manchester. Whatever club adds Adrien Rabiot to their roster will have acquired a gem and potentially world-class midfielder.
