Faded out of the Emirates quite easily is this man. An asset? No doubt. Useful to Emery? Not by the looks of things. What is the next step for the German midfielder after the exit rumours surrounding him?

So much talk surrounding the Gunner that it’s been hard to miss him all season, even though he’s taken so much time out on the sideline. It really has been a wretched time despite having down so well in the English Premier League.

This season while taking a backseat drive in the league Ozil managed to surpass all other German greats who took the English Premier League by storm, by celebrating 30 Goals and 51 Assists in 155 Appearances. He not only became the quickest to reach the 50 assists mark but he also managed to become the highest German scorer of all time in the English Premier League.

More from Premier League

The German greats taken over by Mesut was Jürgen Klinsmann and Uwe Rosler. Two mean who took part in the league a decade ago.

Another player’s record that was taken out in the process was the prolific French striker, Eric Cantona’s record of 50 assists in 143 appearances. Mesut Ozil did it in just a 141 games. Amazing that he hasn’t been a regular fixture but still manages to get his name written in Premier League history.

This season’s shameful showings

The German mastermind has only taken part in 16 games for the Gunners this season. Of those 16, three was coming off from the bench. In this time he has scored four goals and joined in on the action with two assists.

The shame of missing out started back when Arsenal played an important derby against London rivals, Chelsea. It was a five-goal thriller that did not include the playmaker. That is where you could see, Ozil’s time at the Emirates could be cut short, even as short as this January.

The question still stands… Is it time for him to give up on Arsenal?

The answer to this is yes. There is no way he suits the style of the Frenchman and he often already overlooks Arsenal’s highest earner even though they taking 5-1 hidings from other rivals across the league. This gives us and the player enough evidence it’s time to move on.

Yes, a price cut will occur perhaps – but if it means he will move on and get the necessary game time needed to make the Euro 2020, then the right move has to be adapted by the German.
