There was a time where anybody would have taken Cesc Fabregas, unfortunately, a string of difficult moves has seen him fall down the pecking order.
Any midfielder in Chelsea’s squad would struggle to get into the starting 11 at Stamford Bridge. With front-runners such as N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and loanee Mateo Kovacic added before the season, you got your work cutout for you to get the nod ahead of these three.
Then you face the problem of the reinstalled Ross Barkley and the midfielder wonder, Ruben Loftus-Cheek coming through the ranks. There really is no sight for the Spanish midfielder. This doesn’t even suggest that Cesc doesn’t suit the new manager’s style of football. But he, like many new managers are opting for more athletic players with strength, speed, ability, and power.
We know the short mid man lacks in some of those critical areas and becomes useless to Sarri’s way at Stamford Bridge. Now where to next to for a player who’s played in England, Spain, and England again?

Italy seems like the home for Cesc Fabregas.
Or so we thought. Recent rumours and rumours before the season kicked off had Fabregas linked with a move abroad, even though some English sides showed interest. At 31-years of age, this moves suits him and any other player in the later part of his career.
If we have to bring him up we will… Take the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo for example. Reaching the backend of his career, left the mighty Real Madrid for a move to The Old Lady. This should give the midfielder the motivation to move on and maybe listen to offers in the Italian league, the Serie A.
Nonetheless, Cesc took part in Chelsea’s thrashing over PAOK in Thursday night’s Europa League action and played a massive part in the proceedings. This will give Chelsea’s board something to think about, before cashing in on him.
Recent reports from Goal.com
It was said sometime back AC was in full contact with Fabregas and his agent, and that a contract was close to being agreed on maybe even signed. The Chelsea mid denied all these false talks and boastfully said, no contact was made between him and the club.
But! There’s always a but… He did also mention that he is open to a move and listening to offers from other clubs like AC Milan could interest him. January will be another busy session for the Blues of London after all the talk for players income and outgoing.
