Talk of a takeover at Anfield has been a continuous discussion in the papers. Since Fenway Sports Group (FSG) took charge, the club has become a real attraction to the rich and famous.
Before recent reports, Amanda Staveley was the name mentioned with the Anfield side, over and over. It became evident nothing was to material as the first lady of football (what she’s referred to as by the papers) reissued her pursuit of other English Club, Newcastle United.
Nothing came of that move either, as Mike Ashley remains the Sponge Bob Square Pants that he is. If you didn’t know, she was the mastermind behind the change over at Manchester City, who are current Premier League title holders.
Since then, all the reports took a dead stand and nothing was uttered about Liverpool being sold. Now, moving on to the beginning of the new EPL campaign, and the talks have picked up again about an Anfield takeover.

Before we get to the new name, here’s a bit of how the story went leading to this point…
During the time of all the chatter about the sale of the Reds – the owners FSG, well more specifically, John Wayne Henry, set a price tag of £2 billion for the Merseyside club. At the time you’d believe this too much for a club who’s actually been without a cup for the past six years.
However, it has been no secret of the clubs in-house success and growth since the inclusion of FSG and manager, Jurgen Klopp. It has been an amazing progress to watch, along with the dominance and progress of the Blues in Manchester, under new ownership.
The progress the club has made has caught the attention of Sheik Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nehayan. As reported by the Daily Mail and many other tabloids, the man with the money and a representative of FSG, Tom Werner, met for discussion of a possible sale.
Although it seems the talks were real, no deal could be struck as suggested by the media. What makes this a crazy deal, Sheik Khaled is the cousin of Manchester City owner, Sheik Mansour. What would it mean if two of the world’s wealthiest Sheiks were to own the most entertaining teams in the English Premier League?
Changes at Liverpool
It certainly would make them a move making team in the transfer window. That’s if they aren’t recognised as one already. They already have the attraction of a beautiful game, as well as the pull of Klopp. Imagine they were to get Sheik money?
It would become a no contest zone and many would fall behind, like many have fallen behind City and Pep.
