Chelsea: Mateo Kovacic completes a loan deal to Stamford Bridge
Chelsea really took long to get whatever else done before the window closed. But the wait was more than worth it with the players added.
It was a difficult period for the London club after many headlines generated had to do with their star players leaving. They not in the clear with how silly the window works. The only teams safe from being plucked are the clubs in other leagues.
The major holdup in all of the business at the Bridge was due to the Conte dispute. If they’d done all a little sooner, I’m sure they would have saved some Chelsea fans’ hearts. Taking things to the wire, but coming out on top gives them a better approach to this campaign.
Yes, they always come back strong after a disappointing campaign, yet this one will be a lot different to those where they won the English Premier League. This time they have the new manager, but also the chance to take the Europa League title.
Before it was just the league needing attention. With their inclusions and already star-studded team – they should be wiping the floor with their opponents.

After being so dramatically shut down from the window before Sarri came in, Chelsea started making good moves. Moves like Jorginho and now the late introduction of Mateo Kovacic, makes anything possible.
The fact Chelsea lineup with a midfield of World Cup winner, N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, and now Kovacic, this team could boast one of the best midfields in the league. Besides the Italian-Brazilian, both Kovacic and Kante saw successful World Cups, respectively.
This is a massive statement for a club without Champions League football. Chelsea will not be the pushovers they were last season. Yes, last week proved differently when they lost. It will take time for the new boss and the new men to get it right. But once they do, it could be over for the rest of the competition around the league.
Kovacic joins the club on a season-long loan. The only dumb thing achieved in this deal by the Stamford Bridge side was not adding an option to buy after the season loan. However, another signing showing some great business to get an ex-Real Madrid in.
The player tweeted this after his move:
"“I am really happy and excited to be here @ChelseaFC.“It is a privilege and an amazing feeling to be part of this club and I can’t wait to start with trainings and matches.“I will try to do my best for this club and hope to bring joy to our fans.”"
Not long now and we get see all these moves, player changes, and manager strategy come into play. Good luck to the new Blue of London.
