Arsenal have been the busiest of the top-six clubs in the English Premier League. After already adding to the roster, the Gunners add more to their already changing lineup.

The man at the head of it all, Unai Emery and his recruitment team has certainly lost a lot of sleep since stepping into the Emirates. What the man has been doing has been exactly what the North London side needed done.

After being the worst goal-conceding team of the top six, Arsenal’s priority was to start closing up the holes at the back. The clubs weakest areas were the number six role, the defensive paring in front of the poles, and the goalkeeper himself.

More from The Top Flight

Before the World Cup commenced – Arsenal added World Cup participant and Switzerland captain, Stephan Lichtsteiner. They are also in the waiting for Sokratis Papastathopoulos, who is said to be coming in the month of July.

Did somebody say a double signing?

The first two who are said to be, all but completed is Bernd Leno. The Keeper has been a target for the Gunners since the turn of the season. Leno was a named amongst a number of clubs after his current employers, Leverkusen signed a new stopper, Lukas Hradecky.

This was the first boost for the Gunners, who then led the race over the other suitors waiting for Leno. But as it seems according to the Telegraph, Leno will be on his way to Emirates to complete a £22 million deal. Not being involved in the World Cup makes it easier for Arsenal to deal with the transfer.

With tight constraints on the budget this season, Arsenal will look to offload where they take on new personnel.

The second of the pair

The second of the double signing is a player making a good name for himself on club level and international level, Lucas Torriera from Sampdoria. He resides in the one position Arsenal has not filled correctly for almost a decade now.

A deal for the midfielder is said to be progressing well with the Serie A club and the English club. The fee been spoken about is in the quarter of £25 million with it expected to rise if the player performs at Russia.

Next: Martial on the move then

This transfer I will rank in the signings season species for the upcoming Premier League campaign – that’s if everything goes according to plan. At the moment Liverpool own the accolade for signing of the season, with their Salah steel and the potential daylight robbery of Fabinho from Monaco.

If the tally rises for Torriera, it could set danger to the transfer. Otherwise, Arsenal still holds many  middle men in their squad, they have to and will offload when the money’s right. Things are shaping up like a mathematician completing the final stages of his maths final. And might I add – looks like it will be worth a 100% pass rate.
