The Blues will be taking a trip to Turf Moor in struggling form. The match has been scheduled for April 19 as Chelsea takes part in the FA Cup over the weekend.
Based on Burnley’s form you would think they would be favourites, winning the last 5/6 games, they beat Chelsea’s record of 3/6. Sitting eight points above Burnley, Chelsea have disappointed a lot this season and has Antonio Conte sitting at the edge.
Before the season got underway, which was many aeons ago – you’d think this match would be a one-sided affair. However, Sean Dyche and his group of never-back-down men treated us with a different tail for them.
What counts in favour of the home side is the reverse fixture that took place on opening day. Chelsea were outdone by a fighting Claret’s team who came to play football.

One could argue the Stamford Bridge side needed to iron out a few problems in the early part of the season – but problems wore on and grew thicker on them, eventually knocking them way off the top spots in the Premier League.
It was the start to all things dim for the ex-champions, and the beginning to the end of any fight Chelsea were able to put up in their follow-up campaign. The worry for them now is to stop the embarrassing beatings by these teams who’ve had Conte’s number for more than just one fixture.
Hoping for a similar type of fixture when the two meet tomorrow at Turf Moor stadium. Whatever way it goes – just want many goals.
Conte will have to reverse the reverse fixture
I do have to admit that Burnley did do better than expected and definitely gained some respect to their name. I also have to give credit to Burnley’s defending this season, it has been balanced and transitional.
Expecting to see tight defending and immediate pressure from the Burnley midfield. Their formation has also been a big part of their success this season, they have found a working system that has potential in the future. Each player provides working combination plays, and sets up opportunities.
For Chelsea, their system has went downhill since the departure of Diego Costa. While he wasn’t the key figure in the team, I do think it was wise to bring in Morata who proved himself. But after the whole Costa dilemma, the relationship and chemistry wasn’t the same. This season has been battle between chemistry in my opinion.
Players have failed to gel with one-another and lost the old Chelsea touch. Though it hasn’t been that evil for Conte’s side, they have had a great deal of success. Next season we will see a new side to Chelsea, and an exciting one.

Going into this game, Burnley need to apply instant pressure. Dominating possession and winning the 50/50 balls are crucial to the tempo of the play. Chelsea will then struggle to play their style of play and be forced to play Burnley’s style. This is the exact control in a game that any team so desires.
It’s a bit hard to call off the bat, with one team completely inconsistent and the other, doing a job beyond imagination. A major plus for the home side is that Conte has to prep for an important FA Cup semifinal. This without fail – will have an affect on his lineup and we could see a bunch of second-strength players come in.
