A sad turn of events for a manager who comes off the back of a Premier League title. Is it time for Chelsea to throw in the towel, or make sure they battle till the fat lady sings?

Not much left for the Stamford Bridge side after they failed to secure all the points at home, again. Wasteful and uncharacteristic by the home side, but sad to say – could be what Conte’s side have come accustomed to.

The Blues are ten points behind fourth place, with a game in hand, and 18 points left to play for. Conte has one win in his last five Premier League fixtures. Never would I ever think this team were the previous champions.

As for West Ham, what a well worked draw. Six points above the drop zone and a game in hand heavy. Things could be looking up for the Scotsman as he helps diverge his London outfit away from the bottom three.

Short replay of the match

Once again I have to repeat, Chelsea were just unlucky, or reckless to not get all three points. Liverpool with a draw in the Merseyside derby was the perfect opportunity to catch up on lost points. Yet, failed in every way.

The hosts should have been up by six goals in the first 15 minutes of the clash. If not offside, they were shooting wide of the target. If they weren’t shooting off target, they were stopped by Joe Hart – who made a save worthy of a point.

Chelsea took 36 minutes to break West Ham down for the first goal of the game, then took another 37 minutes to lose their one-goal advantage. Chelsea had all the chances fall to each of the players in the front line – but all of them were no good.

The first and only goal in the first half came from one of Chelsea’s defenders – show them how it’s done son. Cesar Azpilicueta, acting captain was 100 percent on target compared to his teammates up front.

At the other end the Blues fell to a familiar foe from the past in Javier Hernandez. Coming off the bench in old fashion, Chicharito still – the Mexican paid the deed of game time with a goal for a Hammers point.

That’s a wrap folks. The weekend concluded with a needless draw in Chelsea’s view of things. On the other hand for the travellers – the perfect result for them on there visit.
