Since last season, the footballing side of West Ham hasn’t been up to standard. Despite losing Dimitri Payet in the middle of last season, Slaven Bilic managed to guide West Ham to a comfortable finishing in the Premier League.

The summer transfer window showed a lot of promise, with the club bringing Joe Hart on-loan, together with Premier League experienced players in Marko Arnautovic, Pablo Zabaleta and Javier Hernandez.

However, Slaven Bilic is gone and the team still hasn’t been able to perform. A false concept of a promising season has turned out a fight against relegation.

David Moyes, the current manager, hasn’t been able to change things. The confidence is low, the quality in the squad is not good enough and yet, a bad investment is being made on a team that will get nowhere.

More from The Top Flight

West Ham have one of the largest wage bills in the Premier League, all due to the bad administration. Teams that have a lot smaller budget are doing incredibly well in the Premier League, with Burnley and Brighton as good examples.

Until the club changes its directions, things won’t get any better. The unhappy fans won’t help the team get through this difficult situation, but who can blame the fans? It is all fault of bad ownership that sold ideas that may never be accomplished.

The owners are damaging the image of a club that has always been traditional and big part of the English football history, something that the fans don’t deserve. Many times, owners forget that football without its fans is nothing, and this is West Ham’s case.
