The Premier League clubs have been extremely busy behind the scenes this season. WIth a new CEO in place their, a take over here – and Mike Ashley acting like a child everywhere.
The Blue side of Merseyside have really been working on the whiteboard this term. Undoubtedly, Everton’s following in the footsteps of their neighbours – and fell way behind, considering the two teams difference in league positions and competition runs.
Liverpool, well on their way, recontrustructed the Main Stand during the start of last season. Add that to a new manager, new look, and a new sporting director – you have a freshly baked look on your hands. This is the reasoning behind me first suggesting – Everton’s following in their rivals shadow.

This news comes after recent news of the club wanting to use the government in aid of building them a new stadium. Getting a lot of stick for this type of move it’s understandable why they need some new folks in old positions.
The work done by the club – comes at the right time. If they able to pull off all of these changes, they’d maybe start climbing the ladder on the table, or even become a top-table competitor.
Who is the man Everton’s after to become the new director of football:
The Sun and other news outlets claim; the Dutch daily Telegraph is the paper pushing the story. It states, talks have already started and is currently in process. Marcel Brands is that man from PSV – who’s wanted by the Merseyside outfit.
Known for the money he’s made the Dutch outfit and how good he’s at scouting players, has signaled Everton to come knocking. They could use him as the man to steer them upstream. The upside to this – Everton could see a host of star players come in and used as money-making chips.

The downside – what kind of a club would this make Everton? A stepping stone in their career? A bridge between their boyhood club and their dream team?
Everton’s neighbours, Liverpool, is a prime example of money-making moves. The fans have been split 50/50 (or maybe even 60/40), over their owners, FSG (Fenway Sports Group). The split, 40 being on the side of the owners, and 60 on the side who wants them out the club.

Everton must be careful not to fall into this type of space as a club. The fans want trophies, and players want to win trophies. This is what Everton must push for in the new look quest.
