Not the first time we’ve had this rumour make its rounds and certainly not the last. Many reports suggesting Thomas Lemar, could be on his way to Liverpool in place of want-away, Philippe Coutinho.

All reports are pointing in one direction, and that’s a transfer of Thomas Lemar to Liverpool from Monaco. It’s said by reliable and reputable sources – the Monaco playmaker has decided to join the Anfield club after successful talks were held.

It’s said, because of the hierarchy growing fed up of key player, Coutinho and want to move on. Although, the power lies with Klopp on weather on not, to sell the Brazilian. Lemar has emerged as the most likely and suitable, replacement for the Brazilian. If Klopp decides to part ways in a difficult transfer period – it will surely mark the arrival of Lemar to Anfield.

Since Coutinho’s evident display of wanting an escape from Liverpool, things between the French side, Monaco and Liverpool, have moved along swiftly. As reported, Lemar is heavily in favour of a swap to Anfield, rather than the other clubs interested.

Liverpool rivals both, Man United and Arsenal, are in hot pursuit of the youngster. However, the player wants to play under manager Klopp, and knows it could be now or never, for him to make the move.

The transfer situation to date:

During the final hours of the transfer window – Arsenal put in a bid of about £90 million bid for Thomas, which was accepted by Monaco yet, failed to sign the playmaker because of his desire to play elsewhere.

The deal could not progress due to the timing and the player himself. Since then, the player has gone on playing an inconsistent spell in the French league. Monaco must know it’s time to cash in, with the player’s heart 1000s of miles away from France.

The same song has been sung from all across Europe – nothing has suggested the player is ready to settle for another club but Liverpool. It’s early days in the window and transfers take many turns before the window closes.

This will show big intend by the club and owners, if they were to replace a huge loss as Phil with Thom.
