The injury plagued Daniel Sturridge is rumoured to be done with his Liverpool career as he tries to force a way out of Anfield and back into the England side ahead of an all important, Russia World Cup 2018.

For the first time since joining the Reds, Daniel Sturridge has not been missing games because of injury, but due to falling down the pecking order for manager Klopp.

Liverpool, led by Roberto Firmino once again capped off a well rehearsed victory over feeder team, Southampton. This game like many others, proves Klopp has no, or little place for Daniel Sturridge in the line up.

The Englishman’s last featured when Liverpool took a thrashing against Spurs at Wembley stadium. He came on and could do little to show he’s still needed at the club. The striker’s last Premier League goal came when he was introduced as a sub, and ended off a fantastic showing by the Reds, whomping Arsenal 4-0 inside Anfield.

Daniel Sturridge’s Anfield career to date:

When fit, he would play. Brought in by ex-Liverpool manager, Brendan Rodgers and relied on way too much by the Northern Irishman, Daniel was always the go-to-guy, when Rodgers was in a lot of hot water.

Sturridge saw many intermittent stints and had his best run when he partnered up front with Lethal weapon, Luis Suarez. The two took Liverpool to their best campaign in years. They were also the two top scorers of the Premier League at the time.

After such a promising start to his life at Anfield, Sturridge’s problems only started when Luis Suarez left. Daniel’s partner Suarez, took leave and made him the man to lead the line for Liverpool.

However, this was not to happen, as he was off the pitch too often and caused many selection problems for the managers at the club.

Taken from the Liverpool Echo:

"“The Daily Mirror are that Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is now intent on leaving the club.“According to the report, Sturridge is thinking about leaving Liverpool in January to ensure he is in England’s World Cup squad next summer. It’s true that Sturridge has become something of a fringe player under Jurgen Klopp, and that could impact on his World Cup chances.”"

Will he be missed by Klopp and company?

No he wont be missed. A player with the amount of injuries Daniel has been troubled with is as bad as a player with no talent.

The problem of having to always worry will he be fit is a nightmare for any manager. No denying the players talent and that he could change any game he’s involved in makes it a sad affair, but there is only so many games a manager can go without all his options.

The move if true, will suit all involved. If he’s to make any statement regarding his World Cup aspirations, it wont happen at Liverpool. Only if he leaves will he be able to get regular first team football, which in this saga, is best suited for the Englishman.
