There are many players in the Premier League who are not getting as much game time as they would like and want a move away. Here are 5 top flight players who could leave the big league for the Championship in January-

Benik Afobe- The striker, currently of AFC Bournemouth, has found chances hard to come by since he moved from Wolves in January 2016. The former Arsenal and MK Dons striker has been linked with a move away from the Premier League in January. There will be many Championship clubs in for him, one potentially being his former club Wolves, who have a lot of money to play with.

Mo Diame- The 30 year-old Senegal international has been linked with a move away from Newcastle. He scored the goal to get Hull City promoted to the top flight in 2016 in the Play-Off final against Sheffield Wednesday. He has hardly played for Newcastle this season and could be heading back to Championship. He has gained two promotions in the past two seasons so whoever he joins may have luck on their side. He has been linked with a reunion with Steve Bruce at Aston Villa and also Cardiff City.

Ahmed Musa– The Nigerian striker moved to Leicester from CSKA Moscow for a hefty fee last summer but has rarely played. He may be sent out on loan to the Championship in January to get some game time. Aston Villa have been linked. He was close to joining Hull City in the summer as he has a good relationship with their boss Leonid Slutsky from their time at CSKA Moscow together, so the Tigers may come back in for him.

Danny Ings- The Liverpool striker has had a career plagued by injury and the Reds may want him to gain some fitness on loan in the Championship. This would be some coup by a second division side. Leeds United have been linked with him recently.

Dwight Gayle– The Newcastle striker scored 23 goals for them last season as they won the Championship title but he has fallen down the pecking order. He is prolific in the lower leagues and would be a great signing for someone. Leeds and Fulham have been linked with him in the past.
