It is pretty refreshing to see an Everton player among a list of standout performers and Leighton Baines rightly deserves a place here.

The left back helped Everton finally get a win after five games with a goal and an assist in a very exhilarating game where Watford were two goals up in the second half.

Goals from Oumar Niasse, Dominic Calvert-Lewin leveled the tie, and Baines ensured caretaker, David Unsworth, finally got a win with a penalty in the 91st minute.

More from Chelsea

That spot kick was the 19th Premier League penalty goal Baines has scored and it made him the 10th highest scorer of penalties in the competition’s history.

This win will surely lift the spirits of some Everton fans going into the break and they will be hoping that this win can give them a boost when the season resumes.
