He made his presence felt over the weekend after Klopp included him in the starting eleven. Helping out heavily with the Reds ramping over a defensively poor West Ham side, Sadio was involved in almost each of Liverpool’s attacks.

Liverpool’s winger, Sadio Mane who’s just returned from a hamstring injury while on international duty, spoke out about his happiness of being able to play again, and especially at a time this important for both, club and country.

After being introduced from the kick-off whistle, the Senegalese went on and complete about 77 minutes of football. It awarded him the title “the little machine”, by the manager, as said by the Liverpool Echo. This displayed how abnormal it was for Sadio to return this early and have such an impact on any match.

The winger only managed to feature during one fixture between the two international breaks. The fixtures he was excluded from the team lacked drive. But over the weekend, they were ruthless and benefited from having Mane back in the starting line up.

Mane on how ready he will be for the next assignment – Senegal’s World Cup qualification:

Liverpool Echo’s, James Pearce interviewed the African player to discuss new arrival, Mohamed Salah and what Mane thinks of his goal scoring record in his maiden season under Klopp.

But when speaking about his comeback to action, Mane was extremely excited and ready for their critical match against, South Africa. The two-legged match decides both countries World Cup hopes. Sadio’s arguably Senegal’s best player and adds as a massive boost to their chances of World Cup qualification.

More from Liverpool FC

Mane had this to say:

"“I am very happy.“It was not easy for me to be out with the injury. But more importantly I am back, I played a very good game and we won the game.“I am feeling 100%. There is no excuse for me. Even when I was injured I was always working hard.”"

His return comes at a more suitable time for country rather than for his club, Liverpool. When they [Senegal], met South Africa in the game that now needs to be replayed, Senegal lost to a penalty, which saw the match official lose his job and get banned for life.

Sadio Mane was not included in the fixture due to injury and was sorely missed throughout the match. Luckily for Mane and his countrymen, they can have another crack at it and this time with a strong attack, boasting one of the best African players in the world at the moment, Sadio Mane.
