After attempting to land him in the summer, Jurgen Klopp is still keen to bring this “perfect” midfielder from Newcastle to Liverpool.

Liverpool had an exceptional summer transfer window. Despite all their signings revolving around the midfield, the new additions have transcended the entire team and made everybody start the season well. Currently, the Reds sit second in the Premier League table and would like to carry this momentum on for the remainder of the season, since they have their eyes on the title.

To achieve this, they need only the very best of players. This is why it was no surprise to see that after the summer transfer window closed, it was revealed that Klopp attempted a last-minute scoop for Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle. The Brazil international is one of the best midfielders in the world, let alone the Premier League. Therefore, he would have been a great signing for Klopp.

Liverpool are still keen to sign Bruno Guimaraes of Newcastle United

According to a new report from Fabrizio Romano (via Caught Offside), Liverpool remain keen to sign Bruno Guimaraes. This is despite the midfielder having “verbally agreed” a contract extension at St James Park.

Bruno was involved in Newcastle’s monumental 8-0 win against newly promoted Sheffield United yesterday, grabbing a goal for himself. In the celebration, he seemed to indicate that he was staying put in Newcastle, which isn’t a surprise given his verbal agreement.

However, we know from experience that this is simply a meaningless gesture which should be taken with a pinch of salt. When the right club approaches to sign a player, that player can be convinced regardless of whether he recently signed a contract or how much he loves his current club. Time will tell if Liverpool can convince Bruno G.
