Arsenal strutted to a 5-2 victory against the home side Everton. With this result, Ronald Koeman might be heading out of Goodison Park.

Today, on Wenger’s Birthday, Arsenal gifted him a stunning 5-2 win away from home. The Gunners had played exactly the way they needed to as Everton were unable to contain Arsenal’s creative attack.

Ozil, Sanchez, and Lacazette all finding their fearsome form as they dominated 50/50 challenges in the final third and Ozil playing a key role to finding the runs. We haven’t seen Arsenal play like this in quite some time so it’s an understatement to say that the Gunners have seemed to overcome all the critics.

Nevertheless, Everton put up a hard fight and didn’t make this win easy. They got in behind the back three and got off a respectable amount of shots. One player that was very impressive was Nikola Vlasic.

The Arsenal back-line could not contain the explosive Croatian. At 20, he seems to already master the skills it takes to become a potent attacker. His one-touch passes were crisp and clean, which made for a quicker build up.

More from Arsenal

This is what made Everton such a threat. They were able to mirror Arsenals tactics and challenge those 50/50 balls. Each team seemed to know what the other was going to do. But, after the second goal scored by Arsenal, you could see that they were going to run away with it.

Ozil, Lacazette, and Sanchez were paired up for the first time this season. Personally, I like how Wenger paired Sanchez with Ozil. The two played off each other and displayed confidence and swagger as they played their fancy lay-offs to one another.

They looked like they finally understood one-another. Not to mention how each player got involved with the play. At times Koscielny provided crosses and Monreal and Bellerin tucking into the middle to support the strikers.

The transitions were at their best and gave them options. This is how Arsenal need to play every game. It’s clear they have the talent, but each player has to be on the same page in regards to their roles.

Now I don’t want to jump to conclusions but if the Gunners continue to display those fundamental tactics, then it will see them to big victories.
