It’s hard to see this match have a possible upset, but in the same breath, it’s difficult not to see it happen. Man City, a team too much to deal with and Burnley, a team who never lies down to take a beating.

Dyche has set a mood of self-assurance heading into this impossible encounter. Only deemed impossible as they run out against a Man City side overweening 29 goals after eight games.

Stoke City’s battle attested what’s been said after going down to seven goals last weekend, on their return to club football. They pulled the corner together with Pep’s men just after the first half break. But once they hit the home straight, Man City left Mark Hughes at the exit doors of the Etihad.

More from Premier League

No team was going to take down what was on display by Man City last weekend. Sean Dyche will have to see what can be done to stop a team, who are simply too hard to stop.

Normally, you would go into a game and see how well you could do, maybe getting a one goal win against a top team like City. However, in this case the question stands, how does the team not lose by more than four or five goals?

The Clarets have a busy afternoon in trying to contain, Leroy Sane, Kevin De Bruyne and Sergio Aguero, who could start since returning to action last weekend. That was just a few names of what’s on offer for this afternoon.

Man City need only to continue in the same fashion that afford them a seat at the summit of the English Premier League table, where they sit two points clear. The two points takes some pressure off the favourites and gives them the chance to express the rest of the team. If not that, then a chance to stretch the gap even further.

Any game with the blues of Manchester promises to be open and filled with goals. But Dyche has kept things tidy at the back and could play a well setup defence against a deadly forward line.
