English Premier League: Arsenal climbs the table of the EPL
Not all is lost for the North London club and the manager, Wenger. A few games on after the miserable showing at Anfield where they lost 4-0 and Arsenal’s back to business.
They have managed to string together a handful of positive games, both domestically and in Europe. Arsenal has marshalled some good results and has not lost any of their fixtures since the hammering.
These performances has seen them climb up the table and are now within touching distance from the top five clubs at the top of the table. After beating West Brom in Monday Night Football past, the Gunners now sit in seventh place, only a point from fourth place, and three points from first.
If you’d ask me before the season started, would you say Arsenal would be close to the top of the table after week 6, my answer would have been, no! A strong and stern no would have been given!

The Premier League has not been kind to Wenger and his boys in recent times. In addition, there’s been a load of bad omens circulating the club, manager, and the players.
During the 90 minutes of Monday night past, where the Gunner’s played a stubborn West Brom. None of these frailties were on display. All the players including Sanchez put in an extra shift during the game.
The player even displayed frustration after being taken off the pitch to be substituted. This motivated that things are better at the London club, and they are on the rise to the top spots.
Arsenal’s standing on the English Premier League table:
POS | TEAMS | GP | W | D | L | GF | GA | GD | P |
5 | Liverpool | 6 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 12 | 11 | 1 | 11 |
6 | Watford | 6 | 3 | 2 | 1 | 9 | 10 | -1 | 11 |
7 | Arsenal | 6 | 3 | 1 | 2 | 9 | 8 | 1 | 9 |
8 | Huddersfield | 6 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 5 | 3 | 2 | 9 |
9 | Burnley | 6 | 2 | 3 | 1 | 6 | 5 | 1 | 9 |
Hopefully the spirits remain high for the Gunners and they push on from the good vein of form they’ve been in. Any slip from any of the other top six clubs, sees Arsenal sneak in after falling to a team fighting for the same four spots.
They could harbour one of the Champions League spots they so desperately missed out on last season. And this should be the club’s top priority for the season.
The camp and the players in the camp, do not appear to be mustering up any drama or negative gameplay on the pitch, which is the other, most important thing for the team at the moment.
This is a good sign for the Frenchman [Wenger] as we approach an international break.
