De Boer looked for a new challenge after Ajax and that challenge was Inter Milan. Much like how he failed at Crystal Palace, the Dutchman failed at his run at the Serie A.

In his time at Inter, de Boer was involved in Inter’s European and league campaign. In both he flopped dreadfully. He took the helm during 3 of their Europa League clashes and in that time only managed 1 win and lost 2 of the group stage matches.

Considering their opposition, they were meant to floor any of the other three teams. Probably making Southampton their toughest opponents in the group.

During this time, his league run started a bit better than what went on in his recent Palace days. From the 11 games he was in charge of the Italian giants, de Boer accumulated 4 wins, 5 losses, and 2 draws.

The Dutchman was sacked after a bad run of five games. The loss to Sampdoria at home 0-1 was the final straw to his life in the Serie A. This is where life as a manager of an Italian giant, came to end.

After a season on the couch watching football from home, de Boer joined up with his then new club, Crystal Palace. He was extremely confident about the way he worked and guaranteed Palace would see success after a drop-threatening season, the season before.

Sad to see him go after such a short time and also unhappy to see him not continue his good run after his Dutch accomplishments.
