We haven’t quite seen the end of Week 4 Premier League action with two fixtures still to play tomorrow: Swansea v. Newcastle and Huddersfield Town v. West Ham. After Saturday’s matches, Manchester United sit atop the table with 10 points, tied with crosstown rivals Man City. United have a +10 goal difference to City’s +8.
Week 4 of the Premier League kicked off with an unbelievable 5-0 spanking of Liverpool by title favorites Manchester City at the Etihad on Saturday. Leroy Sane finished the ordeal against the 10-man Liverpool squad with a beautiful strike from outside the box. The Reds were down a man since the 37th minute after Sadio Mane speared City goalkeeper Ederson with his boot.

In the main set of matches, Tottenham destroyed a promising Everton side at Goodison Park 3-0. The Spurs thoroughly controlled the game from start to finish, with a brace from Harry Kane and a goal from Christian Eriksen. Wayne Rooney clearly became frustrated with his teams’ lack of fight, and made a very brash challenge at the end of the match.
Chelsea are rebounding nicely from their horrific 3-2 defeat on opening day to Burnley, as they defeated Leicester 2-1 to secure their third straight win. Ex-Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata now has 3 goals in 4 matches for the Pride of London, all three of them were headed goals. Kante added his first goal of the season to snag the three points.
Arsenal bounced back from a crushing 4-0 defeat to Liverpool last week with a 3-0 victory over Bournemouth. Danny Welbeck notched a brace while new signing Alexandre Lacazette added a goal, and the Gunners sit at 9th in the table. They return to Europa league action this Thursday when they face FC Koln.
Jose Mourinho and Manchester United had their three-match win streak stopped by Stoke City to wrap-up Saturday’s fixtures. United controlled most of the match, but goals by Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku were cancelled out by Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. The German-born Cameroonian’s brace was enough for Stoke to take a point from the match and hand United their first draw or loss of the season.
Brighton & Hove Albion secured their first ever Premier League victory after they defeated West Brom 3-1 at the Amex.
