The start to life back in the top flight has been quiet underwhelming for Rafa and Newcastle United. What’s going on in the Magpie’s camp?

Newcastle United, a club who makes it a habit of moving up and down between the Championship and Premier League.

Two seasons ago, Rafa had a tough task in trying to keep the Magpies up.

Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful in his last-ditch attempted at saving the team from the drop.

During this time, rumours of an unhappy Benitez kept hitting headlines and it was unsure if the Spaniard was ready to take the team and fight to get back to the Premier League.

After long debate, the managed seized a leave and stayed at bay to achieve exactly what was asked of him. He got his team back to top-flight football in England.

Benitez is no stranger to success and is well-known for his work in the 2005 Champions League final. One of the best Champions League finals in history!

Anyhow, managing to bring them back for the Premier League season of 2017/2018, gives one the impression, it was the easy part as manager of Newcastle United.

More from Premier League

It appears the hard part is actually keeping them there and probably staying at the club.

A problem which always stands above the rest and is as transparent as cling wrap (cause this problem has been wrapped around the club for some time now), is whoever is the manager is at that time, they never seemed to get along with the owner, Mike Ashley.

Reports say Rafa is far from happy with the squad:

Reports of this and the fact Rafa once again, looks an unhappy manager.

Makes you understand the lack of leadership and agreements going on regarding personnel at the club.

News has been circling the Magpie’s camp since before the campaign kicked off.

The boss expressed his disappointment of the team going into the season and has labeled them, not strong enough.

I for one am sad a manager with Rafa’s brain and caliber would not say such a thing about the players at the club. That’s unless, he wants out and his had enough of Mad Mike.

Now it said that both him and owner, Ashley, do not see eye to eye. Surprise! No surprise, seeing the two has had their difference since day one.

Only problem, is the effect it has on the team and supporters.

Bad football brings you unhappy campers, good football and results equals a happy life as a manager, something that is definitely missing over there at Newcastle.

Why would this be going on now when you have an A-Class manager, well B+ manager at your club in the best league in the world?

Bad timing perhaps?

Newcastle in a nutshell:

Poor, shocking, dreadful, and not what they asked for, but the list can go on when thinking about this experienced club and their start to life back in the EPL.

No wins from their first two Premier League showings and elimination from the English League Cup. What must Rafa do to overcome the spell of the “New Mike Castle” spell?

How does he get things back to where it was, who helps him on the pitch and leads from the front, and how long will it take. Jonjo red card Shelvey?

Will all of this, come at the expense of a Premier League stay? A lot to think about between, owner, manager, and players, as the league wears on and football already lessened by their cup exit.

Will Rafael be the first manager to leave his post as manager of Newcastle, or will he put his feelings aside and get the team back on track?

He needs to get the team believing in him and themselves again!
