The 2017-18 Premier League opening weekend has been unbelievable, and we still have two giant fixtures still to witness on Sunday. Arsenal defeated the Foxes on Friday night in a stunning comeback thriller at the Emirates, Burnley shot down the reigning English champions in front of their fans, and Watford refused to fall to Liverpool at Vicarage Road.

There were too many twists and turns to the Premier League’s opening weekend to fit into one intro. Did I forget to mention Wayne Rooney’s legendary goal that saw his boyhood club defeat Stoke City at Goodison Park? Or that Chelsea were down to nine men at one point in their stunning loss to Burnley at home?

The results thus far are incredible, and tomorrow’s matches won’t disappoint either. West Ham will take on Manchester United after Tottenham play the recently promoted Newcastle.

More from The Top Flight

Things were off to a hot start on Friday night when Leicester traveled to London to take on the Gunners. Arsenal was off to a strong start, but their momentum waned as the tilt went on. Jamie Vardy and the Foxes came back with a vengeance and stole a 3-2 lead. After a sublime two-touch strike from Aaron Ramsey leveled things up, Olivier Giroud sealed the win with a strong header.

Saturday began in a similarly wild fashion when Liverpool made the trip to Watford to take on the Hornets at home. After the Reds were forced to come from behind twice, they looked to be cruising to victory after Mohammed Salah put them ahead. The Egyptian has been excellent so far for Liverpool, but it wasn’t enough as Watford equalized very late in the match to steal two points from the Reds.

Perhaps the most shocking result is the Burnley victory over the current Premier League champions. The Blues looked unorganized and unprepared for their nightmare opening match earlier today, as Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill were both sent off. Alvaro Morata validated his expensive price tag with a momentous goal early in the second half.

Everton’s impressive 1-0 victory over Stoke at home was an extremely solid performance after a very solid transfer window. Wayne Rooney’s iconic goal just before the half proved to be the difference maker, as the Toffees held off the Potters for a shut out. New signing Jordan Pickford made a game-winning save at the end after a blistering shot from Swiss winger Xerdan Shaqiri.
