Everton are ready to take their game to the next level

After an astonishing transfer period by the Everton Football Club, the Toffees can now challenge the competition’s best.

This is the time for Everton to return to euphoria and battle it against the best in the Premier League. Their out of this world transfer period, which is still yet to be completed, has seen their squad value skyrocket.

New signings Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Cuco Martina, Davy Klaassen, Sandro Ramirez and Wayne Rooney have given Everton depth for the first time in years.

Keane and Martina join a recognized defence of Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka, Seamus Coleman, Ashley Williams and Ramiro Funes Mori.

Their defense finally receives a tick and joins a midfield that now has incredible depth.

Klaassen joins Morgan Schneiderlin, Gareth Barry, Aaron Lennon, Tom Davies, Ross Barkley, James McCarthy and Idrissa Gueye.

Three of these players have joined in the last three transfer periods and it oozes class.

Club icon Rooney can partner Ramirez up front with wingers Kevin Mirallas, Yannick Bolasie and Ademola Lookman.

This is however one of the areas that still needs adjusting. With strikers still linked there is still time for this. But the knowledge that Rooney will bring is immense and Ramirez brings a Spanish flavour to Goodison Park.

Ronald Koeman has established a strong squad, there’s no doubt about it, but there are still question marks.

Will the game plan work straight away? Has Everton’s signings coincided with the powerhouses? Do the Toffees have a weak outfield?

The game plan will take time as it is the natural progression of squad growth. But if Koeman can get them gelling early, they will become a big, big, threat.

Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool are the ‘big’ clubs of course, but there is room for Everton to make a mark.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will have learnt the tricks of the trade in his first season and fans can expect the Citizens to launch into Premier League title contenders. Most of the other teams have strengthened significantly, too.

Everton have set the benchmark for signings but they will have to be wary of the improvements of these top teams. You also can’t discount the likes of Stoke, West Ham, Southampton and Leicester City.

While one or two more strikers and another outfield winger are needed, it is enough for Europa League and a trophy.

The fans have come out in full force with their third round qualifier against Ruzomberok sold out.

Everton can make the illustrious players knock on Koeman’s door. The Toffees can sneak into Champions League and battle it against the best. The club has grown and can only move upwards. The expectations are now high, and rightly so.
