Manchester United and Liverpool is one of the biggest rivalries in English football, the two teams find themselves fighting for a top four finish as The Reds travel to Old Trafford.
No one needs to be told that these two teams truly dislike each other, it’s been made very clear in previous meetings. But it has been a while since Manchester United and Liverpool met in the league both competing for the same thing.
Both sets of fans would ideally like that to be the premier league title, but alas, neither are quite there yet.
Jurgen Klopp is definitely moving Liverpool forward. Not since the days of Suarez have the Reds really had high hopes for this team, the forever “next year” club may well be on the verge of solidifying themselves back amongst the leading pack of the premier leagues elite.
Are the Red Devils back?
Jose Mourinho’s first season as Manchester United manager is featured heavily in the press on a daily basis. We are all very aware that they have won six league games in a row and nine in all
competitions, but who have they really played?
I am not saying that they had easy games, but they had very winnable games with the exception of Tottenham Hotspur in early December. The game against Liverpool will provide a very stern test for this new look United.
When the two sides met back in October it truly was one of the worst games of football anyone has ever witnessed.
There is a major feeling of change since that match and with this game essentially being a six pointer, it would be very surprising to see another cagey affair.
