Wingers

Three attacking players will occupy the positions behind a lone striker in this team. Two of those being wingers in the wide positions. The first of those will be Wilfried Zaha on the right-hand side. Zaha is still a young player continuing to develop at Crystal Palace.

More from The Top Flight

The winger is yet to find the consistency lacking in his game, but he has made an impressive start to the season. Everybody knows what Zaha is capable of in flashes, but he just needs to do it more often to step up to the next level. So far, so good.

On the left wing will be Zaha’s Palace teammate, Andros Townsend. Townsend is on a mission to prove himself since falling out of favor after initially bursting onto the scene at Tottenham a few years ago. The 25-year-old compliments Zaha well playing on the opposite flank.

Both are quick and like to dribble and drive at defenders. Townsend is a good crosser, too, and his left foot makes for good service form the left-hand side of the field. Any striker would enjoy playing with service form the two Palace wide men.

Again, for Townsend also, it comes down to consistency. Both Zaha and Townsend need to sustain their form for much of the season, not just eight games. But based on their good early-season showings, they both have a place in this combined XI.
