Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has always had his own way of doing things and it is pleasant to see that he has carried that over to the Premier League.

You’d have to dig pretty deep into the population of the world to find someone who wasn’t impressed by Liverpool landing Jurgen Klopp as their manager. A club with such a rich history in international football needed someone to reestablish their direction and recenter their brand.

This is Jurgen Klopp’s first summer transfer window with he club and he is wasting no time in bringing his brand, I’ll call it the ‘hipster’ brand, of managing to the English side.

Coming over from another league is just as tough on managers as it is on players. They have to know who would fit in and who wouldn’t and they have to know their competition and how short their own lifeline is.

Klopp is an architect, not a holiday shopper. In order for this partnership with Liverpool to work, he is going to need time to work his magic and produce a lasting line of talent, like he did at Borussia Dortmund.

Klopp turned up some gems at Dortmund. He obviously had his staples, like Marco Reus, but he was the first to snatch up guys like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitaryan and that shows the foresight he has. He doesn’t wait for a player to prove it on a big stage – he provides the big stage.

We can see this happening already at Liverpool with his first three signings. The Liverpool Echo says it perfectly – these are not three guys that would have topped anyone’s list, but that’s just what Klopp does. He bucks the trends and does it his own way.

Klopp spends minuscule amounts of money and finds serious talent. Consider, for instance, Joel Matip. Klopp spent £0m to bring this guy over from Schalke. This is a move of sheer brilliance. Matip is just 24 and he has already impressed, showing potential to be a class center back for years to come.

So while other teams, like Arsenal, are struggling for affordable defensive help, Liverpool have found there’s. For free.

Elsewhere, Klopp has locked up some signings for the future in Loris Karius and Marko Grujic. Again, while other new managers like Mourinho and Guardiola are searching for whatever overpriced star they can find, Klopp is simply plantings some seeds in the fertile soil at Liverpool. He is here for the long haul and when he harvests those seeds in a couple years, they are going to be glorious.

Klopp isn’t making gangbuster signings, but that makes it even more exciting. The anticipation behind these signings is going to make it even better.
