The rumors linking the German forward to the Premier League have not gone away and now it seems the move is more likely than ever. Both Chelsea and Manchester United look primed to make a bid for the World Cup winner, according to the Daily Mirror.

Muller would be an amazing signing for any club. His goal scoring record is fantastic but his overall impact on the game is incredible. The German seems to have it all. He’s a strong physical presence but has the technical ability to cause defenders a nightmare.

He has been superb at Bayern Munich but he has always seemed tempted with a move to England. A fresh challenge may be needed and he may be at the right age to have one last adventure. Every club in world football will be after his signature so he won’t be short of options.

Both Chelsea and United look favorites to sign the striker….

The London club are having a nightmare so far this season. They sit firmly in the bottom half of the league and are a shadow of their former selves. Perhaps they need another big signing to kick-start their campaign.

With Diego Costa out of form and out of favour, Muller may be an exciting alternative. He will certainly get the club goals and may be that bit of world class to propel Chelsea back to where they should be. I can see him slotting in between Willian and Hazard to form a devastating trio.

However, Muller may not replace Costa but instead compliment him. Imagine a forward line of Muller and Costa? Sounds like the stuff of nightmares for Premier League defenders…

Manchester United

Although sitting in third, Manchester United have been heavily criticized this season. So far they have looked labored and although they are busy picking up points, they are certainly not pleasing their fans. Whether its LVG’s tactics or just the players under-performing, Manchester United have been dubbed boring by many.

Similar to Chelsea, they could do with a signing to kick-start their season. Muller is a class act and won’t be phased by the pressures which come with playing at Old Trafford. He is a touch of world class that United have been missing since the departure of Robin van Persie.

The big question is, is he being lined up to replace Rooney? I hope not. I think a signing like Muller will help Rooney re-find his form. Wayne will benefit from having a world-class player to link up with. Remember Tevez, Ronaldo and Rooney? Since they’ve left, Rooney hasn’t really had anyone at his level to play with.

Whether or not Muller actually moves on is anyone’s guess. Rumors are lingering though and their is rarely smoke without fire.

Let’s hope the German does fancy a fresh challenge because I for one would love to see him playing in the best league in the world.
