Manchester United midfielder Adnan Januzaj has confirmed his deadline day loan move to Borussia Dortmund. The attacking midfielder who can also contribute as a winger tweeted out an image of him at the Bundesliga club.

"Pleased to sign for Dortmund"

The Belgium international joined the red Devils back in 2011 as a youth player after spending time with both the FC Brussels and Anderlecht youth teams. He made his senior team debut back in 2013 and has since made 46 appearances for Manchester United.

Appearing twice in the Premier League this season for Louis van Gaal, Adnan Januzaj scored the winning goal against Aston Villa in the club’s second match of the season. His loan move to Borussia Dortmund may be seen as a strange one to the Red Devil supporters given the club’s lack of attacking depth.

Also on his way out of Old Trafford this European deadline day is Javier Hernandez. With both the Belgian and Mexican departing the club, Manchester United are now left with Memphis Depay, Wayne Rooney and James Wilson as the club’s only attacking players.

With the English clubs still having tomorrow to conduct transfer business, Manchester United could also be lining up a move for a possible attacking player. If not, Louis van Gaal may have just severely shorthanded himself later in the season when injuries and fitness tend to take affect.

Sky Sports is reporting that the Belgian spurred possible loan moves to Everton, Tottenham, Marseille and Valencia in order to seal his deal with Borussia Dortmund. The German club is missing out on European competition this season following the club’s tumultuous campaign last year.

Taking the number nine shirt at Borussia Dortmund, Adnan Januzaj will likely become one of Dortmund’s most important players this season. If the German club are to again compete for European qualification, the Belgium player will be key to the club’s success.

Manchester United will likely be lining up a replacement starting tomorrow with the English transfer deadline. I find it hard to believe that Louis van Gaal will risk entering the Premier League season with only three full time attacking players on the club’s roster.

With Wayne Rooney struggling early on and Memphis Depay more comfortable as an attacking winger, Louis van Gaal will need to sign an attacking player. If he fails to do so, Manchester United could face some trouble later on in the campaign.
