With the transfer window closing on Tuesday, Real Madrid are likely to make a move very soon in order to sign the Spaniard. This will likely please Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal who has exiled the goalkeeper since the ongoing transfer “circus” began.

The move will also be made possible by the ending of David de Gea’s contract next June. Instead of losing the goalkeeper on a free transfer, Manchester United have likely made the decision to place their defending player of the year up for sale.

A report from the Daily Star states that the Spanish international’s representative’s are extremely confident of a summer move back to the Spanish capital. The report also states that the move may even be finalized by Monday night.

Begining his career as a youth player for Atletico Madrid — Real Madrid’s derby rival — David de Gea made his debut for the senior team in 2009. Over the next two seasons, David de Gea went onto make 57 appearances for Rojiblancos.
