Arsenal FC Readying Bid for Paris St. Germain Forward Edinson Cavani
With the club’s Karim Benzema transfer rumor continuing to bring nothing but wasted paper to the Arsenal supporters doorsteps, the Gunners have prepared a backup plan to possibly solve Arsene Wenger’s attacking problems.

That solution could come in the form of Paris St. Germain forward Edinson Cavani. The Metro are reporting that Arsenal FC are readying an offer in the range of £35.5 million for the Uruguayan forward. The move would likely solve one of the Gunners biggest attacking problems.
Lacking a top class striker, Arsenal have relied on the rotation of Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck for the last year. Though the scheme has seen results at times, consistency from the side’s leading attacker has lacked during that time.
With one of the best midfield combinations in recent memory, the addition of Edinson Cavani could turn Arsenal FC into the Premier League’s best attacking club. The move could also allow Arsene Wenger to finally win his third Premier League title as manager at Arsenal.
Over the last seven seasons, Edinson Cavani has been a double digit goalscorer. While his output at Paris St. Germain had declined since his arrival from Seria A club Napoli, part of the reasoning behind the drop could be placed on Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
The superstar striker has taken a majority of the goals during his time at the French club. Even with Zlatan taking a majority of the goals, Edinson Cavani has maintained a double digit goal total during his two seasons in the French capital.
One item that could throw a wrinkle into a potential deal between Paris St. Germain and Arsenal FC is news coming out of Italy. Emanuele Giulianelli — a writer for both FourFourTwo and Gazetta dello Sport — posted the phrase “Benzema is coming” on his twitter profile.

The hashtags of Arsenal and KB9 likely refer to the number that current Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema will wear should he join Arsenal FC. Taking this message with a grain of salt, I still find the likelihood of Karim Benzema joining the Gunners this summer the same as it snowing tomorrow in Florida.
For now, Arsenal FC preparing a bid for PSG star Edinson Cavani is the right thing for Arsene Wenger and the Gunners. Fixing the striker problem now rather than waiting until the next summer like Arsene Wenger always seems to do is a must for Arsenal FC.
To compete for a Premier League title, Arsenal FC need a top class striker. Edinson Cavani would provide the Gunners with just that and give them a real shot at the Premier League title.
