- The David de Gea and Manchester United transfer rumor continues to run rampant throughout the football world. It is now being reported by NBC Sports that the Spanish goalkeeper has turned down a large offer from Manchester United in order to force through a move to Real Madrid. The offer was reportedly around $8 million per season with the contract extension running for another six years. While Real Madrid will likely not match that pay level, the rejection by De Gea shows the goalkeeper’s desire to leave Old Trafford this summer.
- A battle between North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham has yet to be played on the pitch this season but now looks likely to occur over a Ligue 1 star. According to the Metro, Arsenal are attempting to sign Tottenham target Adrien Rabiot for a fee around £20 million. Tottenham have been the favorites to sign the surplus PSG player but now look likely to be overtaken by the Gunners and a desperate Arsene Wenger.
- The Mirror is reporting that Manchester City have — finally — anted up the required £50 million fee to trigger Kevin De Bruyne’s release clause. The former Chelsea player has been linked with a move to the Etihad since the conclusion of the previous campaign. The Belgium National Team member now looks certain to headline Manchester City’s 2015 transfer class, something manager Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping can propel the Citizens to the Premier League title.
- In a busy day for the Mirror, the British paper is also reporting that Everton are on the trail of River Plate defender Ramiro Funes Mori. The 24-year old Argentine is valued at £5.5m by the Argentina based club. With Chelsea’s interest in young defender John Stones growing by the day, manager Roberto Martinez appears to be seeking out quality replacements should a deal between the Toffees and the Blues be reached.
- Liverpool have rejected a loan bid for central defender Mamadou Sakho. The 25-year old appears to have fallen behind fellow center backs Martin Skrtel and Dejan Lovren in Brendan Rodgers pecking order. Even though a loan bid was rejected by Liverpool, if clubs feel that their is a chance that Sakho maybe available then these final few weeks could be a long one for both the player and his manager.
- Finally, we have a rumor for a move that is a long way off. The Mirror is reporting that Major League Soccer expansion club Los Angeles FC is obsessed with the idea of signing Cristiano Ronaldo when the star’s Real Madrid contract ends in 2018. The report also states that the club will look to pair him with Wayne Rooney, another player on the club’s Designated Player wishlist.
