Manchester United Confident on Transfer for Bastian Schweinsteiger
Manchester United are confident about securing the services of Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bundesliga side Bayern Munich. The German National Team member is entering the final year of his contract at the German Champions, Bayern are more likely to sell the midfielder than risk losing him for free.

Making his debut at Bayern Munich in 2002, Bastian Schweinsteiger has gone onto make 342 appearences for the club. His 13 years with the club has seen him become an all-time fan favorite and a likely club hall-of-famer in the future.
The 30-year old has never played for another professional club. However, with his career beginning to wind down, his chance to play and compete for a Premier League title has become limited. Waiting much longer could take the German out of the running for England’s “Big Clubs”.
Pursued for much of last season by Manchester United, many believe that the lure of the Red Devils and playing for a Premier League title will be too much for the German to resist. Already winning a Champions League title at Bayern, the last thing to scratch off of’s Schweinsteiger bucket list is a Premier League title.
The report from the Daily Mirror states that Red Devils manager Louis van Gaal has told negotiator Ed Woodward to make a move for the soon-to-be 31-year old. The Dutchman is seeking a reunion with the German following LVG’s time in charge at Bayern Munich.

A deal for Bastian Schweinsteiger is expected to be reached within the next few weeks. The transfer fee is expected to be around £7.5 million making this somewhat of a steal for United. If Schweinsteiger can retain his current from for a few more years, this move may allow Manchester United to remain in the title conversation.
Bastian Schweinsteiger’s experience in Europe will also be beneficial towards United’s Champions League run this season. Missing out on Europe last year, Manchester United will seek a return to normality this season as it seeks to contend for both European and Domestic success.
When asked about Schweinsteiger’s potential move to Old Trafford, Germany legend Lothar Matthaus endorsed a reunion between the German international and Louis van Gaal.

Should Bastian Schweinsteiger join Manchester United this summer, the move would represent the first of a likely many by Louis van Gaal. With a blank check being given to Louis van Gaal, a high amount of transfers are expected this summer, marking a second consecutive busy summer for Manchester United.
