Both Manchester United and Arsenal remain interested in the Champions League wanting midfielder. The original statement from the French international almost certainly ruled out Tottenham, though the side remains interested.
Like the Nathaniel Clyne transfer, the move will likely come down to whichever club matches Southampton FC’s transfer price first. Valued at £24 million, Schneiderlin is easily the most expensive player on the South Coast of England.
Receiving this large transfer fee will most likely be used in two areas of the club. Improving the side through this summers transfer window and helping improve the club’s current youth setup. The same academy that was the highest valued of any in the current European list.
What will be interesting during this proposed transfer is the battle between Manchester United and Arsenal. The two rivals who have had so many classic battles on the pitch will now battle off of it for one of the Premier League’s most talented midfielders.
