Southampton FC’s Summer Transfer Targets
Jordy Clasie — Midfielder — Feyenoord
Also on the wishlist of Ronald Koeman is his former player Jordy Clasie. Before joining Southampton FC last summer, Koeman was the manager at Dutch giant Feyenoord. Making Clasie the side’s captain, Koeman will now look to bring his former star to England with him.

The Dutch manager has stated that Clasie will only be a target should Morgan Schneiderlin leave. However, with Schneiderlin’s departure an almost forgone conclusion, Southampton will likely be putting offers together behind the scenes.
Like Schneiderlin and the already listed Grzegorz Krychowiak, Clasie is a technically gifted defensive midfielder. Coming into the team this summer, Jordy Clasie should expect to feature in most of the Saints matches.
The player could also be used much like Dusan Tadic, splitting starts and substitution appearences in an effort to preserves the players legs late in the campaign. However, while Tadic played at a deep position — attacking midfielder and/or winger — Clasie would come into the squad following the possible departures of Morgan Schneiderlin and Victor Wanyama.
Also of concern for Southampton will be the interest from Italian side AS Roma. With Roma guaranteed Champions League play next season, Southampton will likely have to move quickly to acquire the Dutch National Team member.
