Barclays disclose Player and Manager of the Season Nominess
2. Garry Monk
Garry Monk has been exceptional as the manager of Swansea. His inclusion in the list is not only because he took Swansea to their highest Premier League points tally in the club’s history, but it is because, many wrote him off and didn’t even expect him to last beyond the last season after he took the reins from Micheal Laudrup.

Monk, a former Swansea player himself has little managerial experience when compared to the others in the list but he took a struggling Swansea team, went back to basics, made some decent signings with which he pulled off many wins especially the ones against the big boys such as that sublime performance against Manchester United in the first day of the season handing Van Gaal his first defeat as the new manager at Old Trafford.
Also, when he lost one of his main players Wilfried Bony in the January transfer window, he did a decent job by coping with the situation by placing Gomis as the main striker. With the budget he got from the management, has done a great job and he answered his critics in a stunning manner.
