The Belgian — who scored a penalty vs Stoke City on Saturday to take his season tally to 17 — has been the Blues’ stand-out player, and has also been heavily tipped to win the PFA Player of The Year award.

Apart from opening the scoring on Saturday, Hazard put in another splendid performance against the Potters. He could have scored the winner for Chelsea when Willian fed him after pouncing on an errant throw from Asmir Begovic, but instead set Loic Remy up for an easy tap in.
Hazard has probably been the most consistent player in the Premier league this season, and he never fails to entertain. Chelsea did themselves a whole lot of good when they tied him down to a new contract earlier this year.
The Blues started the season with a huge bang, but several players have faded in and out. Cesc Fabregas, Nemanja Matic, Oscar and Thibaut Courtois have all had questionable games, while Diego Costa — despite scoring 20 goals — has lost out to injury and suspension.
The tricky winger remains the model of consistency, playing at a high level, game after game. What makes this even more impressive, is the amount of minutes he has played so far. He has already made 44 appearances overall, playing in every single Premier League game.
While he doesn’t score nearly as much as Messi and Ronaldo, he’s just as threatening. Along with his 17 goals, he has also made nine assists, boasting a passing accuracy of 86 percent. He has also created the most chances in the league this term, with 86.
Terry has hailed his Belgian colleague, claiming that he is the best player in the Chelsea squad.
"“Eden has been our best player by a long way this year.”“In those games when you’re looking for a bit of magic, he’s the one that steps up.”“He’s up there with Messi and Ronaldo and can only get better.”-John TerrySource: Daily Star"
Terry could be right, when it comes to raising the level of team play and creating that spark, Hazard is definitely the man. He isn’t on the same level as the Barcelona and Real Madrid stars, but he may very well be in a few years time.
Hazard is destined for greatness, but great players need to win — not just cups, but league titles. Having already won the Capital One Cup in March, the player is on course to win his first Premier League title with the Blues.
If he keeps playing this good — and he certainly will — there won’t be much standing in his way.
