In a shocking turn of events, United States National Team manager Jurgen Klinsmann has been tipped as a favorite to take over at Aston Villa FC. The Daily Mail first reported that Klinsmann was in the running to take over at Villa Park.
Aston Villa are currently having one of the Premier League’s worst ever goal droughts. The club believe Klinsmann’s attacking background could inspire a change in the sides current attacking situation.

Previously linked with Tottenham Hotspur, Klinsmann chose to remain with the United States after signing a new contract. The deal is set to expire following the 2018 World Cup, but Klinsmann may choose to leave early. The aura of the Premier league may make refusing to join a second time too much.
Aston Villa have a long history of top flight soccer. Since the club was promoted for the 1988-89 season, they are yet to play outside of the English First Division/Premier League. Currently sitting 18th in the standings, that run is very much at risk.
Outside of Klinsmann, Tim Sherwood is also a favorite to land the job. Following his dismissal from Tottenham at the end of last season, Sherwood has been unemployed. Linked with almost every Premier League opening this season, he has yet to take over at any club.
Currently listed at 16-1 by most odds makers, Klinsmann sits at the third favorite to take over at Villa Park. As shocking as this is, the odds of him leaving the United States have been growing ever since the completion of the 2014 World Cup.
Thanks in-part to his comments against Major League Soccer as well as is its star players training levels, many supporters have begun to turn on the German manager.

Signs against Klinsmann’s management are now appearing at the United States matches. “Red Card the Coach” and “JK OUT” appeared during the sides recent match against Panama.
Though he has not managed much club soccer, the German could relish the chance to make his mark on one of the Premier League’s most historic teams. His only experience came during a one year stint at Bayern Munich.
The fact that Klinsmann would be leaving his current lifestyle in California behind to manage a team every day for nine months in almost unthinkable, however, stranger things have happened.
With the mounting pressure from both Major League Soccer and the United States supporters on the rise, it could be possible that the tension forces the former German star to reevaluate his current situation.
Should Klinsmann decide to join Aston Villa, it opens the next question of who will take over managing the United States? It will also be interesting to see how Klinsmann handles a job in one of Europe’s most competitive leagues should he take the job.
