  • However, he did not receive much attention from André Villas-Boas or Tim Sherwood last season, making only ten league appearances for the club. Failing to score a goal in the seven Europa League matches led to much speculation that his quality was not on par with the rest of the team.

When Mauricio Pochettino took over as manager this past summer, many did not see the star that Kane was about to become. Impressing in the side’s Europa League and Capital One Cup matches, Kane has worked his way into Pochettino’s first team.

His form has been so impressive, Tottenham offered Kane a new five-and-a-half-year contract on February 2nd. Five days later, the young English star rewarded the club for his new contract by scoring both of the side’s goals against their North London rival, Arsenal.

The win did not only put Tottenham in the running for a top four finish, but also put Harry Kane on the world map. Since the Arsenal match, Kane has seen support come for him to become England’s number one forward as well as interest to play for some of the world’s biggest clubs.

Included in that list of clubs is the great Real Madrid. In the Daily Mail’s report, it states that Real Madrid has scouted the young star on three separate occasions.

However, Madrid are realizing that his new contract and their past trouble negotiating with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy could make Kane untouchable for at least the next two seasons. One of the reasons for the interest could be his goals per game average this season.

Since December 12th, Harry Kane is tied for third in the world with 1.1 goals per match. He sits higher than world class stars such as Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Diego Costa on the list.

Having already signed Tottenham stars Luka Modric and Gareth Bale, Real Madrid have a good history with former Tottenham players. With Kane about to receive a senior national team call up, the question becomes not if, but when Real Madrid will sign Harry Kane.

No matter how much loyalty Kane has towards Tottenham, when Real Madrid come calling your name, it is very hard to say no. Should Real Madrid discuss terms with the club for the player, Harry Kane could become the Gareth Bale negotiations part two.

Hopefully this time however, should Tottenham sell Kane to Real Madrid, they can reinvest the money wisely into the club. For many Spurs supporters, the agony of losing another star could be too great.

Harry Kane has become the life blood of Tottenham Hotspur. Should Real Madrid purchase Kane, it has to be asked how the Tottenham faithful can hold on? Having sold three of their best ever players to Real Madrid, Spurs fans may find it difficult to continue with the club.

If there is any way for Tottenham to retain Harry Kane, the club must find a way to do so. The difference of keeping and selling Kane could be the difference between the normal Tottenham Hotspur and the Premier League Champion Tottenham Hotspur.

No matter what Tottenham decide to do, expect Real Madrid to be waiting in the wings. Waiting to strike for the young English star.
