This weekend marks matchday six of the 24/25 Premier League season, with some interesting match ups, so let's see how things are shaping up.

Premier League weekend preview

To begin with, Newcastle United welcome Manchester City to St James' Park for the lunchtime game on Saturday. City will be withour Rodri, who is going to miss a "signifcant period of time", even though there is no exact timescale on his injury yet. This could help Eddie Howe's side smell blood, as they look to bounce back from the disappointing result against Fulham on Saturday.

Onto the 3pm's. Everton host Crystal Palace, in what could be an entertaining affair for all of the wrong reasons. The Toffees have lead in all of their last three games, and have just a singular point to show for it. Meanwhile, Palace are the only side not to have lead in a Premier League game so far. Jarrad Branthwaite is set to return for Sean Dyche's side in a huge boost.

Brighton travel to Chelsea as the likes of Robert Sanchez, Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo face their former club. Enzo Maresca's side look like they are beginning to find the right formula, with performances and results improving. Fabian Hurzeler's side remain unbeaten, but have had two frustrating draws at home in a row now.

Brentford host West Ham United, as the visitors look to bounce back from their second 5-1 defeat at Anfield in the Carabao Cup in a row. The hosts are going for a hat-trick of 22nd second goals in a row, though not a hat-trick of defeats in a row, of course.

Arsenal host Leicester City after a fantastic Carabao Cup game for their academy players against Bolton Wanderers in midweek. Raheem Sterling could be in line for his first Premier League start for the Gunners after an impressive display in that game. Leicester are still looking for their first win.

In the teatime game, Liverpool travel to Molineux to face Wolves, who cannot catch a break at the moment - with defender Yerson Mosquera to have surgery following an ACL injury against Aston Villa. Liverpool have won five out of six games under Arne Slot so far, and will be heavy favourites to make that six from seven.

On Sunday, Ipswich host Aston Villa as they look to build on Sam Morsy's last gasp goal against Southampton last week that secured them a point. Villa advanced to the fourth round of the Carabao midweek, following a fortunate win over Wycombe Wanderers.

Manchester United host Spurs on Sunday, with both sides having played in the Europa League in midweek - with differing success. Heung Min-Son went off injured in the win over Qarabag, and may not feature in this one.

For the second Monday Night Football of the season, it is an all South Coast affair, as Southampton travel to Bournemouth. As touched on above, the Saints were cruelly denied a first win of the season after a late deflected goal from Sam Morsy in their game against Ipswich. Bournemouth lost their first game of the season against Liverpool last time out, though did put in a credible performance.
