As expected after the tumultuous campaign last term, Manchester United have a busy summer ahead of them. With the signing of Jushua Zirkzee almost sealed, and also the ongoing negotiations for Matthijs de Ligt, the Red Devils are in the cards to add another Dutch sensation to their squad.
Manchester United eyeing up Xavi Simons
As reported by The Sun, Manchester United are set to enter the race for Xavi Simons, who is coming on the back of a solid EURO 2024 with the Netherlands and an impressive season at RB Leipzig.
Simons' parent club PSG could be open to selling the Dutch midfielder for a healthy price. However, it all depends on whether or not the French champions' manager Luis Enrique is planning to include the 21-year-old in the starting 11 next season. Should the Spaniard not count on Simons, the player might also push for a move.
Xavi Simons was re-signed by PSG last summer for only 5 million euros from PSV. He was then loaned out for the season at RB Leipzig, where he lit up the Bundesliga with eight goals and 13 assists in 32 games.

Simons featured in all of the Netherlands' games at EURO 2024 and even bagged a stunner to open the scoring in the semi-final loss to England. He also recorded three assists, the competition's joint best with Spain's Lamine Yamal.
Manchester United are on the verge of confirming their first signing of the summer, with Jushua Zirkzee having his medical this Friday, as reported by Fabrizio Romano. The Dutch striker helped Bologna to a fifth-place finish in the Serie A and will provide competition in attack for Rasmus Hojlund.
Another player Manchester United are looking to bring to Old Trafford is Matthijs de Ligt, who could be reunited with Erik ten Hag after their fantastic 18/19 season at Ajax. According to the same Fabrizio Romano, the Bayern defender only wants to come to United and is waiting for clubs to come to an agreement.
Manchester United will need some strong reinforcements ahead of the next Premier League season, with a much better campaign expected from the Red Devils after finishing 8th last term.
