In the teatime Premier League kick off, Everton hosted Fulham, for the final game of the day. Fulham manager Marco Silva and midfielder Alex Iwobi were returning to Goodison Park for the final time, unless they draw each other in the FA Cup.

For the task of making it six games unbeaten, Sean Dyche elected for a line up of; Pickford; Young, Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko; Gueye, Doucoure; Harrison, McNeil, Ndiaye; Calvert-Lewin.

Meanwhile, Silva went with; Leno; Tete, Diop, Bassey, Robinson; Pereira, Berge; Traore, Smith-Rowe, Iwobi; Jimenez.

Everton 1-1 Fulham: As it happened

It was a tough opening twenty minutes, with two Jimenez strikes in the same sequence after seven minutes the only two attempts for either side. However, after 25 minutes the game began to come alive. First, Jimenez played the ball to Traore, who saw his drilled shot from an angle met by Pickford.

The ball stayed alive, and culimnated with Jimenez cleverly flicking the ball to Smith-Rowe, who could not find the target from very close range. A few minutes later, Calvert-Lewin had the ball in the back of the net, only for VAR to overturn it for an offside. The sides went into the break goalless.

The first goal of the game came just after the half hour mark. Smith-Rowe showed sublime ball carrying to take a number of Everton players out of the game, before passing the ball to Iwobi, who carried it forward before stroking a lovely finish from just outside the box into the bottom corner against his former club.

It looked like it was going to be enough to win the game, but five minutes into stoppage time, a first time cross from Ashley Young found substitute Beto in the centre of the area, with the striker powering a header past Leno in the Fulham goal, to keep their unbeaten streak going. On the balance of the game, probably a fair result all round.
