Match Report: Crystal Palace 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur
By Tom Vinall
On Sunday afternoon, there was an all London affair in the Premier League, as Crystal Palace welcomed Tottenham Hotspur to Selhurst Park.
Oliver Glasner decided on an XI of; Henderson; Chalobah, Lacroix, Guehi; Munoz, Wharton, Lerma, Mitchell; Sarr, Eze, Mateta.
For the task at hand, Ange Postecoglu went with: Vicario; Porro, Romero, van de Ven, Udogie; Kulusevski, Bissouma, Maddison; Johnson, Son, Moore.
Crystal Palace 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur: As it happened
It was a slow start to the game, with no shots in the first 13 minutes for either side, before Johnson had a shot blocked, with Munoz doing the same for Palace a few minutes later.
Spurs had a lot of the ball in the early stages, but did very little with it, as Palace remained very comfortable out of possession. After 31 minutes, they took the lead, with Eze and Mateta, who have both struggled to hit last seasons heights, combining to make it 1-0.

A few minutes later, Marc Guehi went close to doubling the lead, but saw his effort. Deep into first half stoppage time, Spurs had by far their best attempt of the game, as Udogie cut the ball back for Maddison, but Henderson was there to make a strong save. The sides went into the break with Palace a goal to the good.
Three minutes into the second half, Kulusevski went close to equalising with a strike from inside the box, but his shot was saved, in an effort he probably would have felt he should have scored.

Not long after, Eze thought he had a goal to go with his assist, but was adjudged to have been offside.
It mattered very little in the end, however. Palace saw the game out incredibly comfortably, with Spurs creating absolutely precious little. A blocked effort from late substitute Bentancur in stoppage time was their only effort of any kind beyond the 55th minute. A very deserved first win of the season for Glasner’s side.
This win takes Palace out of the relegation zone, above Ipswich Town and into 17th place, with six points, three points behind Leicester City in 15th place. Spurs remain 8th, with 13 points from their nine games.
