Manchester United have been forced to compromise with Aaron Wan-Bissaka contract talks- But what are the conditions to keep him?

There are many problems which plague Manchester United and Erik ten Hag at the moment. When you consider off-field issues with Jadon Sancho and recently, Marcus Rashford, the prolonged Aaron Wan-Bissaka contract negotiations seem to be of less importance to the club.

However, they won’t want to let the other issues stop them from their negotiations. After all, the domino effect of allowing your best players to leave for free is an awful chain, so it must be broken before it can begin to circulate.

Luckily for Manchester United, they have a wildcard to play. According to a report by the Daily Mail, the club have stalled in talks with Aaron Wan-Bissaka. While a contract extension doesn’t look to be close, they could instead trigger an option in his contract which allows them to keep the player for a further year.

Hopefully, from Manchester United’s perspective, the further year could ensure a better chance to tie him down to a new deal. He is an important defender and when he’s fit, is the best full-back from a defensive standpoint in the league. Nobody can defender in the accurate and composes manner that he does.

Ageing at 25 years old, Wan-Bissaka should be entering the prime stage of his career. Whether or not he sees these years being spent at Old Trafford remains to be seen but from Erik ten Hag’s perspective, he’s clearly a big fan of the England international.
