Arsenal: Fabrizio Romano provides BIG update on Aaron Ramsdale future
By Kian Long
Fabrizio Romano has provided a big update on the future of Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale, who has fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal play their third match in the Champions League group stage tonight. Aaron Ramsdale, despite helping the Gunners to qualify for the competition, is yet to play a Champions League fixture. The England international has fallen out of favour with the loanee David Raya, who has started both European fixtures under Mikel Arteta so far this season.
We have predicted Aaron Ramsdale to get the nod in this fixture, with David Raya crumbling under pressure a lot recently. However, it’s increasingly difficult to predict what Mikel Arteta will do, since he doesn’t give a lot away to the media. Contrary reports suggest that it will actually be Raya who starts against Sevilla.

Speaking on the situation is Fabrizio Romano, however, he’s added his own transfer spin on the situation. It’s news that will appeal to Arsenal fans, since the transfer king doesn’t think that Aaron Ramsdale will be sold anytime soon.
The reason for this is that January is a dry period in the market for goalkeepers, as goalkeeper transfers tend to take on a “domino effect”. With most clubs set on their options between the sticks and not looking to recruit new goalkeepers midway through the season, a move for Ramsdale can almost be written off in January.
Aaron Ramsdale is a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium, so fans won’t want to see him leave, particularly to any rival club. With Mikel Arteta speaking openly about his desire to play both players, sometimes even in the same game, it’s clear he still has big plans to implement Aaron Ramsdale.
