Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has issued one final chance to Jadon Sancho. But will the roubled England international take that chance?

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag hasn’t had the best start to the 2023/24 season. Admittedly, he hasn’t been helped by off-field issues and, of course, injuries to some key players.

A large part of the off-field issues at Old Trafford have stemmed from Jadon Sancho. The winger who was signed from Borussia Dortmund with plenty of promise, hasn’t had a successful second stint in Manchester. Some may say he hasn’t been given enough chance to prove himself but when he has been given a chance, admittedly he hasn’t been at his best.

This is why Erik ten Hag benched him and criticised his effort to make it into the first team. This is what caused the issue, with Sancho blasting out at his manager and since then, the conflict hasn’t been resolved.

Erik ten Hag hands Manchester United rebel Jadon Sancho a final chance

According to a report from The Guardian, there is a slight chance that Sancho could turn this negative situation into a positive. The report claims that Sancho will be transfer listed unless he apologises to Erik ten Hag directly.

I cannot see this happening. Unfortunately, Sancho is a young England professional who was given a lot of hype at a young age. This has affected his ego and made him complacent and a nightmare to work with, as it seems.

In my opinion, he absolutely SHOULD apologise for what he’s done. To undermine your manager is a disgrace, but it isn’t irreversible. Look at the case of Granit Xhaka at Arsenal – He once disrespected the club while he was captain but ended up leaving a hero after turning his reputation at the club around. Whether Sancho will follow suit is a different story.

Meanwhile, United may have found the answer to their defensive woes.
