Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is willing to part ways with his world-class talented midfielder, who has recently surprised summer signing Declan Rice.

Arsenal have incredible depth in their midfield right now. If anything, this seems like the one area of the pitch where Mikel Arteta can rest easy at night. The strongest midfield three is Thomas Partey, Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard, but when either of them are injured or suspended, the likes of Emile Smith Rowe, Kai Havertz, Fabio Vieira, Mohamed Elneny and Jorginho can easily fill in.

Of those depth players, Jorginho got an important call to the first team at the weekend. As Mikel Arteta planned for the visit from Manchester City, it was Jorginho who got the nod to control the midfield play. Certainly, he seems to be a man for the big occasion under Mikel Arteta, as he played exceptionally well to calm the composure in the midfield for the Gunners.

Arsenal open to selling Jorginho despite Declan Rice claim

According to a report from the Mirror, Barcelona would like to register their interest to sign Jordinho in the next transfer window. The report also claims that Mikel Arteta is willing to sell Jorginho, only a year after signing him, if the price is right.

As pointed out in the report, Declan Rice has been heaping the praise onto his midfield counterpart. Also starting the game against Man City, the England international has revealed he was the most surprised by Jorginho’s abilities when signing for Arsenal, given the Italy international’s ability to play the right pass and be in the right position at all times.

Further, Rice has even claimed that he’s been trying to learn from Jorginho, who he claims is an “outstanding trainer”.
