David Beckham is one of the most popular figures around the world and has been living in stardom since he scored that wonder goal against Wimbledon in 1996. Currently, he is very much in the headlines once again following his recent Netflix documentary and he could well be making a return to the club that made him what he is today, according to TalkSport.

Manchester United takeover

The ongoing sale of Manchester United seemed to take a turn last week with Sir Jim Ratcliffe taking a different approach to get himself into the Manchester United equation but the Qatari bid from Sheikh Jassim is still very much there even if the Glazers are happy to let this situation drag on and on till the end of time.

With Sheikh Jassim wanting a full takeover of the club he is ready to ring the changes and invest in the club which has not happened enough since the controversial takeover of the club in 2005.

If he does manage to complete the takeover, then he wants an ex-Manchester United legend to become an ambassador for him in the hope of spreading the new age of Manchester United and possibly to ease some issues surrounding Qatar’s human rights complications, especially the ones they faced prior the 2022 World Cup.

Why David Beckham?

Apart from being the biggest celebrity to come out of Manchester United since George Best, Beckham has a close relationship with the people in charge of Qatar. Having featured heavily in the 2022 World Cup promotion, for which he was criticised for following comments prior that would make is actions hypocritical, Beckham was also seen at this weekend’s F1 race.

Beckham, however, is the ideal man. He has been outspoken, perhaps not as much as others, about the need for investment at Manchester United and the need for the club to get back to its glory days.

He is a figure, he is an icon, and he is the perfect candidate for Sheikh Jassim.
