Brighton have reportedly agreed an insane £20.8m which will see them secure a world-class winger under Roberto De Zerbi.

Brighton have started the season well. Despite their most recent performance, they sit sixth in a tight Premier League table. They’ve put in some excellent displays and manager Roberto De Zerbi has truly cemented their status as a team to be feared this season

Despite losing some of their best players in the summer transfer window, new signings have made the Seagulls look better than ever. Further, the reality of their best player was truly revealed, as one player has made them tick more than most so far this season.

That player is Kaoru Mitoma, one of the finest dribblers in the world. The Japanese winger is one of the most underrated in the Premier League in his position. Certainly, he could walk right into any team based on current form.

Roberto De Zerbi is very aware of this fact and has based his recent business on this. Instead of preparing a backup option with the knowledge that he manages a selling club, instead De Zerbi has secured the long-term future of Kaoru Mitoma.

Brighton secure mega transfer extension for Kaoru Mitoma

According to a claim from journalist Chris Wheatley, Brighton have agreed a contract extension with Kaoru Mitoma. It’s believed his agent did an excellent job to secure a five-year contract extension for his player, worth £80,000 per week.

In total, this means will Mitoma will earn £20.8m over the entire course of his deal. If you ask me, this is an absolute bargain from Brighton’s perspective. When you consider that certain clubs pay their mediocre players upwards of £200,000 per week and Mitoma is outshining them all, this really puts into perspective that there are some things money can’t buy.

In other Brighton news, we predicted the lineup to face Marseille on Thursday night.

Do you think Kaoru Mitoma will stay at Brighton?
