In today’s Arsenal transfer news – Edu has held talks with this “emphatic” English striker, an update on Ivan Toney & much more.

Arsenal transfer news – Edu holds talks with Ollie Watkins

According to a sensational revelation from Football Transfers, Arsenal’s director Edu has “held talks” with the agent of Ollie Watkins over a potential move to Arsenal. It’s thought that Chelsea are also interested in the English striker.

Ageing at 27-years-old, it’s believed that Watkins would fit the calibre of striker which Mikel Arteta is aiming to bring in as soon as possible – a proven goal scorer who can finish chances when they matter the most.

Arsenal transfer news – Mikel Arteta willing to offer players for Ivan Toney

Let it be known that Watkins isn’t the only English striker on Mikel Arteta’s shortlist. In fact, he is likely to be the backup option for Ivan Toney, who Arteta has been interested in for significantly longer.

According to a new spin on the story from 90min, Brentford are only likely to accept offers within the region of £75m. Since this is higher than originally thought, Arsenal are willing to offer players plus cash to land Toney. Again, they face competition from Chelsea.

Arsenal transfer news – Scouts were watching Santiago Gimenez

Continuing with the theme of strikers, Arsenal are also interested in signing Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez. As reported by 90min, they sent out scouts to watch the Mexico international bag two goals and an assist before his game against Ajax was suspended. Certainly a fiery game.
